Special Folders

This information is not really something you do in RegEdit, but actually something you can find out if you know what you are looking for in RegEdit. What you can do with this information is create these folders anywhere you can put a shortcut. In my examples, we will add them to the root level of the Start menu.

• Click "Start", "Settings", "Taskbar".
• Select the "Start Menu Programs" tab.
• Click "Advanced".
• Click on the "Start Menu" Folder.
• Go to the "File" menu, select "New", "Folder"
• Name this new folder one of the following:

Control Panels:		Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
DialUp Networking:		Dial-Up Networking.{992CFFA0-F557-101A-88EC-00DD010CCC48}
Printers:		Printers.{2227A280-3AEA-1069-A2DE-08002B30309D}
