PIRATE CRACKDOWN
----------------

The violent destruction of the UDA Macroframe center 2 weeks ago signified
a pinnacle in the on going battle between UDA forces and the notorious
Pirates Guild. The Pirates Guild claimed responsibility within 24 hours of
the bombing, the deviousness of the strike infuriating UDA Generals.
However, within two days, a revenge strike was launched by UDA upon the
guild's headquarters located somewhere within the Forbidden Sector of the
Dragon Quadrant.

"We learned the location of the Pirate's headquarters through a long and
tedious process of infiltration, which began more than a year ago."
Gelardin Nevenkhis, Head of the Special Forces division of UDA, and man in
charge of the strike said last Thursday. "It was then simply a matter of
stirring up their sense of paranoia and distrust to cause dissension within
the ranks." Mr. Nevenkhis went on to explain that this was an easy task
among such an "anarchistic" group. "The loss of the computer center was a
regrettable miscalculation on our behalf," he said. "However the main goal,
that being the destruction of the Pirate's Guild, was accomplished."

The strike reportedly was only the finishing touches on what military
leaders around the quadrant are calling an "ingenious assault". "The main
action which lead to the unraveling of the Guild was made possible by our
deep cover agents who gained high ranking positions within the inner ranks"
Mr. Nevenkhis reported. The agents apparently used psychological warfare to
manipulate the high ranked Guild officers into fighting amongst themselves.
When they disintegrated into various factions and open hostilities broke
out, it was a simple matter for the UDA special forces to subdue them one
at a time.

The new central UDA Macroframe center was finished last week by the TriTeq
Builders Association. If you wish to access their servers, please realize
that the change in building has been mirrored with a change in address. The
Macroframes are now located at http://www.dracon.net. Computer Experts have
already dubbed this new Macroframe Center as the Dragons' Star Network
version 2.0.

TriTeq CEO Dranor issued a press release on Wednesday saying that "The
system is now stable with only a few bugs left to weed out. "We encourage
people to log on as much as possible, and to report any faults they find in
the system."

UDA Gets Serious
----------------

In a ground breaking decision, the United Dragon Alliance reorganized its
ranks today, with over 1000 temporary suspensions of duty. The decision,
which has meet less criticism than expected, came after the bi-yearly UDA
performance report.

The report, compiled by UDA internal affairs, outlined a need for reform
based on a "Quality, not Quantity" system. It went on to lay blame for the
current "Quantity" situation on over-recruitment for menial tasks and the
continued employment of people in areas that are now defunct. The report
continues: "Some employees, such as equipment maintenance and storage
personnel, low ranked scouting trainees and personnel employed for holiday
activities are still on the payroll. This is despite the fact that most of
them have not even bothered to report for duty within the last 6 months."
The report does not disclose how this matter was overlooked, nor how it
became so large. Commanding Officer Joyce Westin, SDO Administrator and
member of the UDA board of advisors told reporters at a news conference,
"The UDA oversight comittee will be launching a full investigation into
this matter. We can not allow gross negligence of this magnitude to
continue."

Galaxy Toys Opening Extravaganza!
---------------------------------

TriTeq Industries, Inc. held the opening ceremony of what they boast to be
"The biggest toy store in the galaxy" today. Large crowds gathered at the
complex, which is easily reached by shuttle from the transport level of
RDO. The onlookers gathered and participated in the festivities, which were
climaxed by the opening of the store.

The store is a joint venture between Triteq and Seetkorp, Inc.. Seetkorp, a
company founded by the notorious Bauhaus, has been questioned over their
involvement in the seemingly innocent venture. Bauhaus was unable to be
reached for comment on the reasons for SeetKorp's involvement, however
amongst his close circle of friends their are rumors of a reformed
character after his completion of the Dagger Isle Terraforming Operation.
The opening ceremony went off with no loss of life, a first for a SeetKorp
venture.

"We're are extremely pleased with the completion of this project," remarked
Trillian during a speech made at the ceremony. "And we hope the toys bring
our children as much joy as our children bring us." Trillian was later seen
walking around the store with her daughter of 4 years, inspecting the toys.
She was seen purchasing a Spaetor Doll called 'Little Miss Know It All' for
her child.

The store opened two months later than scheduled. "I'm not sure of all the
details, but I believe there was a problem with transporting some of the
stock. Perhaps there wasn't enough to fill the shelves," Trillian replied
with a chuckle, when questioned about the delay.

However there were rumors that some Khrenesch extremists threatened the
construction yards where the complex was created and previously located.
SDO Chief of Security Hartero Kwasnye, said that "if any demands had been
made upon TriTeq, they would most likely be connected to the refusal of
DranTran [a TriTeq-owned shuttle/travel company] to open a shuttle route to
the Minoricean system." TriTeq Industries, Inc. spokesperson Infoteq denied
these allegations saying only that "DranTran is having civil talks with the
people of Kyrin Moor."

Talk of the Station
-------------------

UDA officials have announced that the savings made due to a personnel
'reorganization' shall be put into funding a set of projects to improve
the quality of UDA equipment and services. The first of these projects
is the immediate repair and installation of a new Ultra-Tech satellite
system. These are to be used specifically to keep UDA personnel in touch
with current events in the Dragon Quadrant. There is also bandwidth set
aside for personal transmissions. The satellites are being commissioned
from TriTeq Industries, Inc. at a reduced price. "We are most happy to be
able to help the United Dragon Alliance in their efforts to maintain peace
in the Quadrant," remarked Infoteq this morning at a press conference, "and
hope to see the relation between TriTeq and UDA strengthen in the future."
When asked about why reduced rates were given to UDA, above the normal
special rates for military operations, Infoteq answered, "The peace of the
Quadrant is in our interest."

It has been rumored that TriTeq will be donating part of the satellite
systems bandwidth for the TriTeq Builders Assoc. to use. The Builders
Assoc. has grown over the years, and with their need for privacy they
installed their own special satellites a few years ago. Recently one of
these satellites crashed and the system has been down since, with the
Builders Assoc. using public communication.

UDA Goes Sleek for Summer!
--------------------------

The word for this quarter is neo-sleek. That's all the rave on the catwalk
lately. I'm seeing First Strike Stealth Suits. These little puppies were
designed for military wet-ops, but much like the 20th century earth fad of
Cargo Pants, they're becoming much more versatile, and that my pretties,
means civilian. Can you say civilian? If your first strike stealth suit is
looking not as suave and neo-sleek as you'd like it, then why not try for
the ultimate accessory. We're not talking bracelets here, darling. No! Am
I hearing the words "Hand Razors?" I think I am! These come in 'Startling
Silver' or Badthing Black. They turn any neo-sleek joe into a piece of
fashion pie.

And what about on the other end of things? What's out this quarter? Well
we can start with those awful Fuddish Shotguns! Maybe in the 20th century
hunny, but not on my walk! Seems the Fudds have come under some fire on
the Dragons' Star network, and these things are being sold like bargain
bin specials-Eww! We suggest you try for a staff or club. They seem to
meld well with the latest neo-sleek threads. Staves of the Ages or Bards
will do you well, their quaint emblems' and markings just give them that
arcane feel, which has been a summer love of the Belarths these past two
years. The stone club is making a rebirth after near-fashion-death last
year. However, with production on them toned down, their prices have also
increased.

That's all for this quarter darlings! Stay wonderful, and remember,
'Fashion is your key to the stars!'
